About Me
I'm a trained cognitive and neuropsychologist with a marked preference for the technical aspects of research. Whenever possible I prefer automating a task to doing it myself, so consequently I embraced programming during my studies. Through this I specialized in providing technical assistance at all stages of the research process: from generating stimulus material & programming experiments to processing, aggregating, & analyzing large amounts of data and up to the visualization of data for dynamic inspection or print.
In the past, this gave me the opportunity to work on a wide range of topics – including mathematical thinking, psycholinguistics, environmental psychology, and sociology of health – and with a variety of different methods such as pupillometry, eye tracking, or fMRI. I continue to work with EEG & NIRS in Prof. Dr. Wartenburger's Neurocognition of Language group.
In my position as lab manager of LOLA, I am able to expand my methods to the recording and processing of acoustic signals, video recordings, and ultrasound data. I am especially interested in developing methods to enable synchronization and integration of the various data streams and to automate feature detection.
