During transitional phases, it is possible that several study regulations and the corresponding module handbooks for your degree program can be found online at the University of Potsdam. Only the documents that are most up-to-date at the start of your studies are of interest to you.
Study Regulations
The study regulations define the framework conditions and regulations for your studies at the University of Potsdam. With the help of the study regulations, you can plan your studies in the long term and get an overview of all the modules and achievements that you have to take and complete. They also help you to create a timetable and determine when it is best to take which module.
It also defines and regulates:
- Learning objectives and qualifications
- Start of studies
- Standard period of study and scope of studies
- Structure of studies
- Definition of course types
- Content(s) of studies
- Admission requirements for individual courses
- Study plan
- Study and examination achievements
Study regulations should and are usually revised as a whole regularly over a period of a few years and are then republished. However, minor changes can also be made in individual cases. They are drawn up by the respective subject-specific study commission. This is a university committee in which both student representatives and members of the university, such as professors and lecturers, sit.
Module Handbook
A module handbook is a document from the university in which all important information about the courses in a degree program is collected.
This includes, for example, the content and learning objectives of the individual modules, courses, internships, etc. Furthermore, you will also find information on the workload and the number of credit points (CP) that the module earns. Information is also provided on potential entry requirements or recommended prior qualifications. Possible forms of examination are also defined here, as well as responsibilities (module supervisors) on the part of the university.
Module handbooks are usually revised regularly together with new study regulations. However, minor changes can also be made in individual cases. The documents are also prepared by the respective subject-specific study commission.
The module handbooks can be viewed via PULS.
