HR Development Concept
Implemented Practice
Since the founding of the University of Potsdam in 1991, we have established a wide range of HR development tools. These tools have been stipulated, systematized, and strategically embedded in the HR Development Concept (PEK for “Personalentwicklungskonzept”) since 2017.
Commitment across Employment Groups
The HR Development Concept (PEK) is the result of a university-wide discussion process. Representatives from the university’s management, the faculty management, the central administration, and the central academic institutions developed a common understanding of HR development, identified common goals, and agreed on recommendations for action.
We have defined the following key objectives for the UP:
- Optimize the recruitment of employees and young talent
- Develop, promote, and retain staff with lasting effect
- Create an attractive working environment with a modern and motivating work culture
- Integrate equal opportunity, family equity, and diversity at all levels of the university
- Continuously develop the quality of teaching and research
- Strengthen international visibility
- Shape the generational change
