Applying for a Professorship

The general employ requirements for professors in the state of Brandenburg are specified in Section 43 of the Brandenburg Higher Education Act (BbgHG).

We provide an English version as a service translation (outdated version as of spring 2024 - we are working on an update).

Further requirements for the professorship a are stated in the respective announcement.

For an application typically the following documents are supposed to be submitted:

• Letter of application / description of your research interests
• Detailed CV with a description of your scholarly/professional development and academic education
• List of publications with full bibliography
• List of courses taught, if possible teaching evaluation reports
• List of acquired third-party funded projects
• Information on participation in academic self-governance, if applicable
• Copies of academic certificates (not certified)

Additional documents, for example selected publications, teaching concepts and the like, may be requested for the selection process.
