Dr. Hannes-Vincent Krause
Hannes-Vincent Krause studied Psychology at the University of Hamburg (B. Sc.) and the Humboldt University of Berlin (M. Sc.). After completing his studies, he joined the Weizenbaum Institute and the Chair for Business Informarics, esp. Social Media and Society at the University of Potsdam as a research associate in 2018. In his dissertation, he investigated the effects of social media usage on users’ well-being, focusing on the interplay of technological platform features and psychological processes to explain this relationship. He completed his Ph.D. in November 2022. His work as a postdoctoral researcher in the research group “Well-being in the digital world” at the Weizenbaum Institute and at the chair, led by Prof. Hanna Krasnova, is dedicated to further examining the impact of digital technologies on human well-being, emotions, cognitions, and behavior. Methodologically, he focusses on experimental (e.g., pretest-posttest control group designs, online experiments) and survey designs (cross-sectional and longitudinal). His work has been published in leading journals (e.g., Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication, European Journal of Information Systems) and conference proceedings (e.g., International Conference on Information Systems, European Conference on Information Systems).
