Aims of the UFS

The UFS aims to bring together research carried out at the institutes of Chemistry, Physics and Biology that is focused on sustainable materials. The CRC 1636 uses visible light (potentially sunlight) to drive chemical reactions. These efforts to find sustainable ways to new ressources are combined with research on materials made from renewable ressources or that are easy to recycle to support a circular economy. The UFS supports and bundles such activities and creates new ideas and directions to design sustainable materials.
