Elections

General Informations

Every year in the summer semester (usually in June), the new MaPhy student council is elected. This is made up of 12 full members and 6 deputies.  Elections are always held over 2 days, once in the physics building and once in the math building. You have the opportunity to vote by secret ballot and direct election on the election dates listed below. You have a maximum of 8 votes in total; accumulation of votes and other handwritten notes that do not serve the election are not permitted and will invalidate your vote.

However, you can also take part in the election by postal vote. To do so, submit an informal application to the election committee maphywahl[at]lists.astaup.de. You can submit this until 10.06.2024, the documents must be returned by 19.06.2024 17:00. We will send you the exact address when you have requested the postal vote. If ballot papers are submitted twice or more than once, the ballot paper that is submitted first will be counted. The others lose their validity. Multiple voting via postal ballot and actual ballot paper on election day is not permitted. The application must include the following:

  • First and last name, degree program
  • Address to which the documents should be sent

In the FSR, you can not only plan events, contribute your own ideas or stand up for your fellow students in committees, but also make new friends.

You can now have your work in the FSR recognized in the “Practical Module on Democratic Commitment” for 6LP, at least if you are studying physics mono. To do this, you must provide proof of 170 hours of voluntary work in a work diary. The credit will then be awarded by the examination board.

So as you can see, it's worth joining the FSR. Ready, steady, go, we look forward to receiving your applications!

You are also welcome to help with the count. Just get in touch with maphywahl[at]lists.astaup.de. The counting will probably take place on June 19th at 5:15 pm in the physics forum.
