Inês Espinhaço Gomes
“European and European Legal Studies” at Europa-Kolleg Hamburg/University of Hamburg (Germany)
Inês Espinhaço Gomes is graduated in Theater-Acting (2009-2013) and Law (2014-2017). As to her jurist path, she obtained the Law Bachelor’s Degree at the Católica Porto Law School (Portugal), having attended one semester at the Utrecht University (the Netherlands) under the Erasmus Program. The 4 years Bachelor’s Program was concluded with excellency in 3,5 years. She is now a student of the Master Program “European and European Legal Studies” at Europa-Kolleg Hamburg/University of Hamburg (Germany) and is developing her thesis on Gender and European Law, aiming to obtain her LL.M. degree in September 2018. During her studies she was awarded with several scholarships: Leonardo Da Vinci Scholarship (Theater International Placement), twice the Excellence Award for 2nd and 4th Best Student (Law Bachelor) and the Germany Scholarship at University of Hamburg (Law Master).
She made her one-month compulsory internship on February 2018 at the Human Rights Centre of the University of Potsdam and had the pleasure of being supervised by Prof. Dr. Norman Weib. She was responsible for the research on human rights policy of the European Union and investigated the actions at the Human Rights Council (HRC), by analyzing fundamental strategy documents, namely the reports of the Universal Periodic Review, a process within the HRC that cyclically reviews the human rights situation in all UN Member States.
She aims to develop further research on the fields of Human Rights, Gender Legal Studies, European and International Law, Constitutional Law, Comparative Law and Legal Philosophy.
