Technology

In many of our projects, we have to work with degraded DNA, either from dry or wet preserved museum specimens, such as skins, skeletons or alcohol-preserved specimens, or fossil bones and teeth. Moreover, almost all species we work on are non-model species for which limited – if any – genetic or genomic resources exist. Therefore, we also work on technical developments of the individual steps in obtaining and analysing DNA sequences from the extraction of DNA to the analyses in-silico.
