Master's Degree Programs

Remote Sensing, geoInformation and Visualization

This English-language master’s degree program focuses on the gathering, processing, analysing, and presentation of geoscientific spatial data by using remote-sensing technologies and data-processing methods. The program uses models and theories to assess geoinformation, and then to prepare and communicate our findings with modern means of visualization.

Ecology, Evolution and Natural Heritage Conservation

The master's degree programme on organic biology is offered bi-lingual: in English and German. Its focus is on most recent findings within the different special areas of ecology, evolution research and natural heritage conservation studies. The programme is research-oriented and therefore presents a wide variety of modern research methodology while at the same time keeping track of applications and services.

Earth Sciences

Taking Earth as a dynamic and complex planet, the master’s degree programme on earth Sciences focusses on various topics spanning multiple time and spatial scales. The programme is offered bi-lingual: in English and German. Students will get insights into the structural build-up of our planet, current dynamic processes as well as the Earth history. The programme looks at chemical and physical parameters and the utilization of appropriate methodological to determine the characteristics of the inner core, the mantle and the crust. Natural hazards as well as raw material deposits are only two of many areas of expertize within the master’s programme on Earth Sciences.

Geo-Ecology

While this bi-lingual master’s degree programme is based on the bachelor programme other environmental science are eligible for enrolment as well. The master programme on geo-ecology will not only provide knowledge about the methods and theories in ecology but will also introduce scientific perspective from soil sciences, hydrology and other relevant areas of Earth System Sciences. It is focusses on modelling dynamic and complex interactions between the different system components and fosters the inter-disciplinary analysis and interpretation of environmental issues in close relation to societal aspects
