German Research Foundation (DFG) funds a Research Training Group at the University of Potsdam

The German Research Foundation (DFG) will fund a Research Training Group ("Graduiertenkolleg") to be established at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences of the University of Potsdam by Potsdam Center for Policy and Management (PCPM) professors and collaborating colleagues. The funding will be granted as a result of a highly competitive application process. The Research Training Group will convene around the research field of "Wicked problems, challenged administrations: Knowledge, Coordination, Strategy". The Potsdam Group is  is one of 16 newly established Groups in Germany.  At the University of Potsdam, a total of twelve scholars of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences will be be involved. Eight PhD students will receive scholarship support in the first year.

Funding for the Group will be granted during a period of nearly five years, starting in October 1, 2012. Speaker is PCPM member Klaus H. Goetz who holds the chair of German and European Politics and Government at the University of Potsdam. Links between "wicked" policy problems and the organizational development of public administration as well as inter-organizational relations will be a focal point of the Research Training Group.
